Ma Nyande Women's Development Organization (MNWDO) leads a transformative cassava processing and value addition project in Sierra Leone, empowering women farmers in Bo and Falaba Districts. This initiative turns cassava, a staple crop, into high-value products like laundry starch with fabric conditioner, enhancing income and reducing post-harvest losses.
Through hands-on workshops, MNWDO trains women to process cassava into marketable products, fostering entrepreneurship and economic independence. The project integrates with Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) to fund equipment and inputs, ensuring sustainability. Supported by partners like the International Labour Organization (ILO) and UN Women, the program aligns with Sierra Leone’s Feed Salone initiative to strengthen local economies.
